Orest Kondratenko

"We were shelled very heavily and could hear it very well"

Orest was caught up in the war near Hostomel in the Kyiv region. The family was saved by moving to a neighbouring village. But it was still dangerous there. Despite the war, he did not give up karate training. Unfortunately, the war made adjustments to children's sports. Many people left for other countries, and there were fewer competitions, he says sadly. But the victories that Orest and his team win are all the more valuable. He told his story during a holiday that has been organised by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for children affected by the war that has been going on for many years.
