Oleksii Medvedev

"My most valued artifact is the uniform of my deceased fellow countryman"

Oleksiy Medvedev is an amateur historian. For many years, he has been researching his native haunts and taking care of the school museum in the village of Chervona Sloboda.

During the full-scale invasion, the educational facility turned into a humanitarian hub. Here Oleksiy, along with other educators, took in the victims and helped them.

After Kyiv region was de-occupied, the number of artifacts in the school museum grew. Among them are the occupiers' belongings, shell fragments. But the belongings and uniforms of their fellow men who died in battle are the museum's most valuable acquisition. The defenders' families donated them to the local historians for safekeeping.
