Svitlana survived by a miracle. In October 2023, a missile hit the building where she was working. Luckily for her, the Iskander did not explode. But it still caused damage. The impact was so strong that Svitlana was covered with stones. She could not get out on her own. There was panic all around, the smell of missile fuel. 

Rescuers pulled the woman, whose leg was broken, out from under the rubble. She underwent a long course of treatment. And again she came under shelling in Pokrovsk. And this time, it was the metres that made the difference for Svitlana – the debris hit the wall behind which she was standing.
