The Fedusov family’s history stretches back to 2014, when Sofiia’s grandfather fought in Donbas. In 2021, her father joined the army, and with the start of the full-scale invasion, he found himself in Mariupol defending the city. Her father was captured. For almost three years, Sofiia and her family waited for his return.

On New Year’s Eve, they always made one wish – for their father to return. A week before, Sofiia’s younger brother made a charm and asked their mother to touch it so that their father would come home sooner. A miracle happened: a week later, the family heard the news of the exchange!
