In the first days of the full-scale invasion, Alona’s husband went to defend Kyiv. She, at her own risk, put her 14-year-old daughter on an evacuation train and decided to stay in the city to help as much as she could. “If everyone leaves, who will defend Kyiv?” she thought to herself at the time. Now, Alona says that it was her active mindset and meditation that helped her through the toughest times.
