"We have been living in a bomb shelter for seven months"

We have been living in a bomb shelter for seven months. We have everything here, even a fireplace to keep the children warm. It's just like home, but we have to live in the basement.

I lived here with three children, and there were only 16 adults and twenty children. We share food among us.

We have been living in a bomb shelter for seven months

A long stay underground has already caused a huge problem for the children – they have to adapt to life on the surface. Psychologists worked with mothers and children for two months. We worked through our fears to finally leave the shelter.

My children and I spend nights with our relatives, because our house was damaged by shelling. It was also looted. Once we repair it, we will return there.
