A 45-year-old resident of the Kherson region lived under occupation for a year and a half. Olena recalls how the Russians behaved in her village, including interrogating local men and taking away those who served in the army. The woman tried to go out less. After the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, Olena's house was destroyed, and she was forced to leave through Crimea and Russia back to Ukraine. She recalls how volunteers helped her and her family to leave and provided them with food and other necessities.
