Nakhmet Ismailov

“They put a bag over my head, and I was taken for interrogation and torture”

In occupied Kherson, Nahmet Ismailov helped elderly people with the products, cooked for them and also looked for vital medicines for sick people. Exactly because of this, he was visited by some “guests” one morning. They put a bag over his head, took him to the isolation ward, conducted interrogations, sent electric current through his body...

Before the full-scale war, Nahmet Ismailov, a Ukrainian stand-up comedian and a host of entertainment events, worked and lived for pleasure in his native city Kherson, but also he always found a time to help other people. Starting from 2014, he organized charity performances to support the military and displaced people. Being in occupation, he began to help compatriots in need for which he suffered.
