During the full-scale invasion, Lidiia was at her friends' place in Vinnytsia. Her mother lived in Mariupol. She worked as a seller in the shop. And when her daughter was trying to persuade her to leave the city, she replied: "I have to go to work. People cannot be left without food". After March 30, the communication with Mariupol was lost.

"I didn't know how to get my mum out of that hell. We were really worried about her. She cooked food over a bonfire and hid in the basement. At 4 a.m., militants pulled her out of the basement. She said to them: "Glory to Ukraine!" They kept silence in response. She said once again: "Glory to Ukraine!" They kept silence again. And my mother understood that these were russians", - Lidiia tells.
