Anhelina was born and raised in the Kherson region. When the full-scale invasion began, she spent almost three months under russian occupation. The family decided to evacuate when they heard that the occupation authorities were planning to seize and take their children to the temporarily occupied Crimea. Their parents refused to work for russia. Anhelina, along with her mother and brother, first went to Poland, where the family lived for a year and a half. Later, they found refuge in Kyiv.

Anhelina told her story while participating in the Peaceful Rest for Children of Ukraine project organised by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
