Alla Zhylina, an activist from a volunteer center in the village of Stavyshche, Zhytomyr region, shares her experiences during the full-scale invasion, when her family and community united to help refugees and the military. In March 2022, they organized a reception center for refugees, provided food and shelter. They cooked for the military, and took everything to the front line under fire.
Alla shares her experience of studying at the Petrykivka Art Academy. She started practicing this art professionally because she needed to restore her mental balance in difficult times. Petrykivka painting, as a symbol of Ukrainian culture, has become another way for her to support the military. Alla participates in charity auctions where she sells her works and donates the proceeds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
