On the night of March 10th, 2022, Dmitry, along with his mother Natalia, her friend and friend's daughter Sonya, was hit by an air strike. Their house was completely destroyed. Only Dmitry survived.
“They thought that my odds of surviving were zero. My legs are gone. Bleeding. I was blown up with a Ukrainian passport. My mom was killed on impact. She's 43 years old forever. Sonia's mom was blown to bits. She was 46. Sonya died of traumatic shock an hour later. She was only 12. I went blind for five days. My eyes wouldn't open," says Dmytro, a resident of Mariupol.
