Andrii Shpin lives in Polohy. He survived the full-scale invasion of russia to Ukraine. Andrii recalls that the evening of March 3, 2022, was particularly disturbing. One could hear the constant artillery shelling and the shooting from the south, from the side of the city of Tokmak. The enemy materiel - the tanks and infantry fighting vehicles - started infiltrating his district, which caused fear and panic among the locals.
Andrii tells how his neighbours became the victims of violence and how he himself tried to avoid encountering the russian soldiers. He points out that even the ordinary walks at the city were dangerous because of shelling in all directions. People tried to hide in the basements, but not everyone had that opportunity.
After a few days of fear and uncertainty, hoping for a temporary shelter, Andrii and his family decided to go to Zaporizhzhia.
