Viktor Bratan is a well known photographer from Kherson. When the invasion began, he decided to stay in his native Kherson. He put aside his photo camera and became a volunteer.
Viktor Mykolaiovych could not leave elderly fellows without support. During the occupation, he helped the most needy every day, without days off or vacations. He miraculously hasn't been detained a single time.
After the liberation of Kherson he returned to his favorite occupation at his new job. Viktor Bratan became a photographer of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kherson. His camera lens mostly captures the destruction, the aftermath of shelling, and the daily exploits of rescuers. But the hardest thing was to work when Kherson Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Oles Honchar was on fire. Viktor Bratan's father is a well known Kherson writer Mykola Bratan, who was friends with Oles Honchar.
The library was a shrine for Mykola Bratan, so it was unbearably painful for the writer's son to see the books and the whole world of the "Honcharivka" (as Kherson residents call the library) burning.
