Lidia Komar

I said, “Why did you shoot my grandson?” The boys were put in bags. Some without heads, some without legs”

The grandson of Lidiia Komar and four other residents of Peremoha village were shot by Russian troops on February 28, 2022. The guys were hiding in the basement of the local post office. After the execution, the occupiers blew up the premises.

The soldiers came to Lidiia’s house a couple of days later. The woman did not lose courage. She eavesdropped on the negotiations of the occupiers, counted the equipment. She conveyed information through a neighbor to the Ukrainian Armed Forces! The Russians began to guess, and a neighbor was taken in for questioning. But Lidiia persuaded them to let her husband go.

During the occupation, the village residents buried the bodies of the executed guys in the field. And only after liberation were they able to rebury those killed in the cemetery.
