My nephew Vanya is 11 years old. He lost his parents. He knows his mother only through photographs. He was just over a year old when she died.
On the day of her funeral, I had a dream in which she asked me to take care of her baby. Of course I did. I am his aunt and godmother.
I also raise my own two daughters. My parents support us. We keep a household for the sake of the children, although it is already quite hard to do.
Before the war, the household was a source of income, but now it is a way of subsistence. The allowance that I receive as a single mother is 570 UAH per month. My younger brother doesn't work, because he is ill. My retired mother worked, but not now anymore.
Every New Year we make only one wish - to have peace restored.
