"Every day we live as if it was the last"

I always have job offers at home. Recently, shells have hit the roof and smashed the chimney. I had to repair it myself. My wife is always afraid that I can fall down the stairs, but there is no other way. She also helped me by passing cement and slate for the roofing. And we do everything ourselves.

We've been together for twenty years. We met at work at the manufacturing workshop. We have supported each other ever since. What would a wife do all by herself? She can't go to the shop on her own. I take a cane and go myself.

Not only do we support each other, but we are each other's salvation from loneliness. You would not see anyone walk on the street anymore. We can't go anywhere so we live every day as if it was the last day. We are even afraid to use the toilet because a shell might hit our head even now, when it is safe.

We hide in the house during the attacks. Now it is cold, we have no money for coal, so we use our fruit trees to heat the house. We had three apricots - all woodfired.
