"Finding insulin or having money to buy it is next to impossible"

My son Ilya is 15, and he suffers from diabetes. Insulin is indispensable to his life, but because of the war, it is nowhere or almost impossible to be found. We looked on the Internet – one PFS costs 600 UAH. This PFS lasts only for a week.

There has not remained any imported insulin in local pharmacies. Most diabetics take it. We used to get free insulin under the state program, but now all these programs have been suspended in Donetsk.

We turned to the Rinat Akhmetov Humanitarian Center. They told us, "We will help you, you will receive a two-month dosage." This is the most necessary medication in his life. I had to beyond the checkpoints to the government-controlled territories in order to get it.
