‘I wish this senseless confrontation could stop now’

I am from Donetsk. Before the war, I used to often visit my parents and relatives. Since 2014, after the war started, that has been impossible to do.

This war has divided families, separated people from their kin, taken thousands of lives on both sides of the conflict. I wish this senseless confrontation could stop now, because even Victory Day was a bitter holiday. How can you celebrate happily when the war is going on right next to you?
