Natalia Bondar is the Deputy Director for Research at the National Museum of Literature of Ukraine. For 40 years, she has devoted her life to the museum, which has become not just a workplace, but a second home. That is why the beginning of the full-scale invasion was especially painful — the museum was forced to suspend its work. But even in the darkest days, the team did not lose hope. Already in March, on Taras Shevchenko’s birthday, the museum came alive online, and in June it opened its doors to visitors again. Defying the war, in order to speak about culture, memory, and the meanings that help us endure.
