We have been together for almost 60 years and have experienced many difficulties.
Now we live three kilometers from the line of demarcation, and there are only ten residential buildings left in our village.
Three years ago, most residents left because of the shelling. A Grad fragment hit our yard. We were lucky that nothing or no one was damaged.
Another problem came to the family along with the war– Tamara Hryhoriivna was diagnosed with cancer. Our whole family supported her, and the surgery was successful - she survived.
I do whatever I can: I take care of our vegetable garden. Before the war, we kept cows, pigs, and geese, but now there are only chickens left. Old people like us can't keep up with a large household. All the fields burned down.
Drinking water, is a problem. We need to go to a neighbouring village to get it. We collect rainwater to wash and give the chickens to drink.
We are almost used to such conditions, but we are afraid of a cold winter. There is no place to get firewood, because the wood lines are mined, and coal is expensive to buy.
