Maksym, a father of two kids, has been saving his children from the war since 2014. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, his family was in Chasiv Yar, a city in the Donetsk region not far from the war zone, approximately 12 km west of Bahmut. Russians shelled the city from three sides. There was no water, gas, and, in some areas, electricity. Due to the constant shelling, Maksym's kids had to use pillows to block out the noise.
