Hanna Merenda watched a large convoy of Russian military vehicles enter Melitopol. That was the first time she felt overwhelming fear for her children. She had to leave everything behind and save the little ones. They ended up in Zaporizhzhia.

Hanna’s son, ten-year-old Danylo, suffers from severe diabetes. He needs constant medical supervision. Her younger daughter, Elina, is three years old. Hanna says the children were often ill because of what they had to go through. For a long time, the IDP family was not in the mood for holidays.

But this year, they finally managed to go out. They joined the Rinat Akhmetov for Children New Year’s campaign.
