Anzhela Slobodian

“One girl tried to escape. She ran away. But they killed her. They caught up with her and shot her down”

Ukrainian journalist Anzhela Slobodian was the first person who testified in the people’s court in the Hague. She gave her account of Russian crimes and her captivity to judges and prosecutors for two hours. She told them how she survived in a torture chamber and how she had finally managed to escape. Anzhela says that although it was only a hearing at the people’s court, she is confident that the trial in the Hague is bound to happen when Ukraine wins.
