Vasyl Vyrozub is a chaplain and rector of the Holy Trinity Church (the Ukrainian Orthodox Church) in Odesa. On February 25, 2022, he set off for Zmiinyi Island on the Sapphire search and rescue vessel. Together with other participants in the humanitarian mission, he was to pick up the bodies of 13 border guards, who were then considered dead. He was unable to reach the island as the entire crew and passengers were taken prisoner. Vasyl Vyrozub tells about his mission and 70 days of captivity.
