‘We have never seen our home again ever since’

In May 2014, our daughter was born. Armed hostilities hadn’t erupted in our town at the time, but the situation was already tense. Just a month later, things got much worse. In early July, we all were sitting down in our doorways...

A person we know called us and basically ordered us to leave the town during the day. When we were leaving, the streets were completely empty.

We have never seen our home again ever since. The same summer, a shell hit our [nine-storey apartment block’s] roof.
