Alyona lives in Turkey, but she faced the full-scale war in Kyiv. The night before, she could not fall asleep — she felt that something was about to happen. She spent the first days in the capital together with her husband, in a basement, amid explosions and the roar of aircraft, until fear forced them to leave for her husband's homeland. She admits that from abroad the war feels even more painful — because her heart remained at home. That is why she comes to Ukraine every six months, as the desire to be at home is stronger than fear.
