During the occupation of Katyuzhanka, the local school became a command post for the Russian invaders. From the first day of the full-scale war, the villagers hid from shelling in their cellars. On February 26, they were all brought out into the yard. One woman was sent to get the school principal, Mykola Artemovych Mykytchyk. He came without hesitation because he was afraid that otherwise one of his fellow villagers might be shot. However, he did not cooperate with the occupiers.

After the liberation of the village, Mykola Artemovych puts the school in order and calculates the numerous losses. In addition to the broken and looted classrooms, the Russian Nazis left written messages for the students...
