The Russian military murdered Denys Butenko, an activist from Bucha, a volunteer and blood donor. His body, bearing five gunshot wounds, was found in a strip of woods between Vorzel and Bucha, in Kyiv region.
Veronika, Denys’s wife, said that the last time she spoke on the phone with him was on March 5, 2022, after that, there was no mobile signal in the town. On March 9 or 10, 2022, Denys disappeared.
He lived with his disabled mother. Denys was involved in delivering food to civilians in Bucha, and he was also a blood donor.
