Every Ukrainian photographer is dreaming of taking a photo that would stop the war

“Every Ukrainian photographer is dreaming of taking a photo that would stop the war,” said Maks Levin. He worked as a photoreporter; it had been his dream since he was 15. Most of his documentary projects were related to the war in Ukraine.

On March 13, Maks Levin went to Huta Mezhyhirska to record the consequences of the Russian aggression. Maksym and a Ukrainian serviceman left the car and went towards the village of Moshchun. Since then, they were not in touch anymore.

Only on April 1, after a long search, the police found his dead body in Kyiv region. It was found out later that the intense combats started in the area where Maks had intended to work. Levin was killed by the Russian military with two small arms shots.

Maks has four children.

Rest in peace.
